Blackened American Whiskey American Straight Whiskey (75cl / 45%)

Blackened was born as a collaboration between the late master distiller Dave Pickerell, and Metallica. Unconventionally, the barrels are aged in an environment surrounded by the band’s music with the belief that the low-frequency vibrations help the spirit interact with wood. Finished in black brandy casks, the result is a whiskey that offers notes of honey, cinnamon, allspice and dark fruits on the palate, followed by butterscotch taffy and maple on the finish.
During his impressive career, Mr Pickerell became to be known as a driving force behind brands like Maker’s Mark and Whistlepig. Unfortunately, he passed away in late 2018, shortly after the launch of Blackened. Master distiller and blender Rob Dietrich joined the team to bring life to ‘The Boss Hog’s’ legacy blend.
