The miraculous blend. Caribbean rum blended with black liquorice, sweet vanilla and toasted caramel. Pontefract was famous for its jet-black sweet liquorice cakes called Pontefract Cakes, often called the Yorkshire Penny. In the 1800s these Yorkshire Pennies were added to imported rum and a miraculously smooth, dark and delicious blend was born. A Pontefract miracle.
